FIFA Laws of the Game 2015/16

Reeths-Puffer Youth Soccer club creates in-house recreation teams at the younger levels. Older teams participate within the Great Lakes Co-Ed Soccer League (GLCSL). RPYSC Select travel teams participate within the Grand Valley Soccer Association (GVSA). All three leagues comply with the FIFA Laws of the Game. These can be downloaded here. Individual leagues may make subtle amendmentments to the FIFA rules. Individual leagues can amend the FIFA rules. More details on these amendments can be found below.

RPYSC U5 & U7 Game Rules

Team Size

o    U5 - 3 v 3 No Goal Keeper

o    U7 - 5 v 5 No Goal Keeper

o    Please do not plant a player in front of the net. This is counterproductive to teaching the game and could be dangerous for the player.

·         Home Team is team listed first on the schedule.

·         Team Colors

o   Visiting Team Wears Pinnies as Needed.

·         Game Ball

o   Home Team Supplies Size 3 ball.

·         Game Duration    

o    4 x Ten Minute Quarters, 2 Minute Break Between Quarters

·         Half Time

o    5 Minutes

o    Teams Do Not Switch Sides

·         Play Time

o    Minimum 50% Play Time per Player

·         Kicks

o    All Kicks are Indirect

§   Ball Must Touch Another Player Before Entering the Net

o    No Direct Kicks, corner kicks, or goal kicks

·         Off Sides

o    No Off Sides

·         Kick Off

o    Visiting Team Kicks Off 1st and 3rd Quarters

·         Restart Play

o    All Play is Restarted by Throw-in at Sideline

o    If ball is kicked over the goal line, throw-in occurs at corner of sideline nearest the out-of-bounds.

·         Substitutions

o    Substitute at Any Stoppage of Play

o    Please wait for referee to call your subs onto the field

·         Scoring

o    No Official Score Keeping

·         Mercy Rule

o    The Weaker Team May Add a Player with the Referee’s Consent

 

RPYSC U9 & U11 Game Rules

Team Size

o U9 = 7 v 7 (includes goal keeper)

o U11 = 9 v 9 (includes goal keeper)

 Home team is team listed first on the schedule

 Team Colors

o Visiting Team Wears Pinnies as Needed.

 Game Ball

o Home Team Supplies Size 4 ball.

 Game Duration

o U9 = 2 x 25 Minute Halves.

o U11 = 2 x 30 Minute Halves.

 Half Time

o 5 Minutes

o Teams Switch Sides

 Play Time

o Minimum 50% Play Time per Player

 Kicks

o U11 – kicks can be direct or indirect based on the foul. PK’s allowed.

o U9 - All Free Kicks are Indirect

 Ball Must Touch Another Player Before Entering the Net

 No Direct Penalty Kicks

o Corner Kicks

o Goal Kicks

 Off Sides

o U9 - NO

o U11 - YES

 Kick Off

o Visiting Team Kicks Off 1 st. Half. Home Team Kicks off 2 nd Half.

 Restart Play

o Play is restarted by Throw-in, Corner Kick, Goal Kick, Indirect Kick or Direct Kick

(U11).

 Substitutions

o Substitute at Any Stoppage of Play

o Please send players to midline and wait for referee to allow subs onto the field.
